OFFERING CLINICAL AND HOLLISTIC MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT TO DAVIS COUNTY, UTAH

My Personal & Professional Story

Meet Cami, your friendly neighborhood therapist & death doula

Cami graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from University of Arizona and then received a Master’s degree in Social Work from Arizona State University in May of 2022. She obtained the title of LCSW in July of 2024.

Cami has worked with children and their families attending a speech and language preschool, volunteered as a life skills counselor for high schoolers through the LifeSTEP program, interned as a refugee family caseworker at the International Rescue Committee, and was employed as a wellness consultant/researcher for Watermark Retirement Communities. Additionally, Cami completed a year-long internship with Agape Hospice & Palliative Care in Arizona, where she interned as a hospice social worker. She also worked for the hospice company as an on-call (non-denominational) chaplain. From this internship she grew passionate about grief, loss, and end-of-life care. This is also where she developed an interest in helping others emotionally and practically manage end of life preparations.

Cami enjoys working with a wide variety of clients and celebrates the uniqueness of every culture, religion, and stage of life. She particularly embraces the topic of grief and loss, but is also experienced in anxiety, self-worth, trauma, transitions and relationship issues. She is a ‘Certified Grief Informed Professional’ who is also trauma informed and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) trained which is very useful for PTSD and high stress professions such as first responders and healthcare worker positions. She enjoys working with individuals exploring spirituality and has a profound respect for all religions and faiths. She works with 15 years or older and is LGBTQ+ affirming.

Cami is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), License No. 12921396-3501, State of Utah.

On a personal note...

I turned a corner in my own life when I found methods of self-compassion that were built on radical acceptance instead of external factors such as relationships, accomplishments, and parts of my perceived identity that I didn’t truly have control over. I always deserved of love, kindness, and joy, even before I felt “worthy” of it. I often have to deconstruct what mental health looks like for me personally. I found a love of firm but kind boundaries – I wish that someone had taught me sooner that boundaries were self-care as much as bubble-baths. I continue to learn and explore how boundaries and communication techniques are effective mental health tools. Most significantly, I love to explore the ‘wonder and awe’ of life through acknowledging the end of it (our morality and the presence of grief!), it causes me to savor what I have and live in the present. Every life is precious and I want to live mind as value-aligned as possible. My dogs and laughing with my husband are also a vibrant part of my mental health routine.

I love opportunities that expose me to new things, whether that is through traveling, trying a new ethnic food, exploring a new hair style, or going out of my comfort zone to learn a new hobby. I am a big dog-lover who enjoys taking my dogs hiking and camping. I LOVE cultures and all the unique ways that they eat, celebrate, and spend their time. My husband and I enjoy hiking, power-lifting, and going on fun road trips around the southwest (my husband and I are both from Arizona). Something unique about me is that I spent a year studying abroad in Germany in 2013–I am always happy to dust off my German whenever I’m able! I love to cook and my favorite chill weekend hobby is making my own sourdough bread.
